Becoming a Reflective People: Questions

Here are the questions from Sunday's sermon on becoming a reflective people. If you missed the sermon you can listen here. I was extremely encouraged by everyone's response and am eager to see God use our honesty and pursuit of Him to change us, our congregation and our city for His glory! Here you go:

  1. What do you believe about the Bible?

    1. Does your belief match your action?

  2. What do you fear or worry about?

    1. Do you say I want to avoid ___ at all costs? It has ruled you.

  3. Where do you find safety and security in this world?

    1. What would happen if that thing(s) went away?

  4. What sun does your planet revolve around? What/who are you living for?

    1. Is it working? Is it giving you proportionate to what you are giving it?

  5. What are the 3 most prominent traits describing your heart? Your actions?

    1. Do you like those traits or wish they were different?

  6. Who must you please or whose opinion of you counts? In what priority?

    1. Do they feel the same? What if they’re opinion of you was negative?

  7. Who are your role models? What kind of person do you think you ought to be?

    1. What are you doing to look like that?

  8. On your deathbed, what would sum up your life as worthwhile?

    1. Does this truth mark your life today?

  9. If you died today, what 3 things would you regret not spending more time doing?

    1. Why do you do them now?

  10. What would bring you the greatest pleasure? Greatest pain?

    1. What would happen if each came to fruition?

  11. What payoff do you seek out of the things you do?

    1. What happens if your reward never comes? Would you quit?

  12. What do you pray for? Do you pray?

    1. Should you?

I didn't include my answers to the "Put Jesus to this test" idea. I think it is pretty powerful for us each of us to go through that themselves and see how Christ is perfect in each one, both showing the amazing gap between his goodness and ours and how he fulfills all the things we couldn't to save ourselves.
