This Week's Lesson: This week we talked about Palm Sunday. Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey- a triumphal, kingly entry. The people of the community welcomed and celebrated him by cheering and laying palm branches on the road before him. The people were excited because Jesus was the Messiah they had been waiting for. It is a bittersweet day for us- seeing people celebrate, but also knowing the cross that awaits Jesus. We remember Palm Sunday today as we look to Easter Sunday- the best news of all.Our Memory Verse: Matthew 21:9 "And the crowds that went before him and that followed him were shouting 'Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!'"(Hosanna is an Aramaic expression of adoration and praise.)Our Prayer: God, you are the Messiah, our Savior. Forgive us for not celebrating you enough. Thank you for coming to save us. Help us celebrate you this week as we anticipate Easter.Family Activity: Use the family activity page to read the story of Jesus dying on the cross in preparation for Easter Sunday. Talk about what this means and think about what the disciples must have felt, not knowing the end of the story like we do.
