Update on Coronavirus for Sunday, March 15
Redemption Flagstaff Family,
As we’re sure you’re aware, concerns of the Coronavirus and its spread in public places are on the rise. This has led some people to refrain from public gatherings, like church services. Here in Coconino County, the health board has currently encouraged normal rhythms of life to continue and there remains at this time no documented cases of Covid-19 locally. We will gather this Sunday while remaining vigilant to any unforeseen changes.
We highly value the health of every person who walks onto our campus. Jesus prioritized care for the last, the lost, and the least, and we want to do the same. Some members of our community are particularly vulnerable, and so we are all taking specific precautions to help protect their health.
Here are some of the steps we’re taking for the time being to prioritize a healthy environment and we ask you to join us in this effort.
What we’re doing:
- All greeters will be sanitized up and refrain from physical contact with our attenders (such as hand shaking). Instead you’ll get a smile, wave, strong head nod or maybe even an air five.
- Our Staff Team will regularly disinfect campus touchpoints
- Our Kids Team will continue to enforce our normal sick child/volunteer policy.
- We will alter our approach to communion to eliminate cross contamination.
- We encourage you to refrain from unnecessary physical touch, including greeting one another with a holy kiss (2 Cor 13:12).
What you can do:
- Wash your hands before coming to church and after you use the bathroom.
- Stay home if you have any of the following symptoms: fever within the last 24 hours, excessive runny nose, diarrhea or flu symptoms, cold or cough.
- Check out this catchy and informative video from our friends in Vietnam (proud of my people for this one for sure!)
- If you have to stay home, you can always keep up with our sermons via our website.
2 Timothy 1:7 says, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” We should not be fearful or panicky. At the same time, the love and sound mind we have in Christ means we take precautions seriously.
Once again, we believe it is important for God’s people to gather together each week, as their health allows. We look forward to worshipping with you, and that you’ll help us continue to make Redemption Flagstaff a place that is welcoming and hospitable.
